To wash or not to wash...That isn't a question anymore!!!

Have you ever had one of those days where you just didn't feel like going to all the trouble of washing your hair, but you can't do that because you have the type of hair that needs daily washing?  Or maybe you just woke up late, and didn't have enough time to do a full wash before you need to be out the door? I am definitely the first type because my hair has to be washed every...single...day, and it drives me absolutely nuts.  Now I've heard everyone talking about dry shampoos, and I've even seen quite a few how-to pins on Pinterest about making your own, but up until a few months ago I was hesitant to try them out.  I just didn't think they were going to help me at all given how oily my hair is each morning, and I didn't see the point in trying something I was pretty positive wasn't going to work for me.

I was visiting my local Lush store in Dallas purchasing my favorite solid shampoo (that will be a post for another time), and the sales lady convinced me to try out their version of dry shampoo called No DroughtShe totally sold me!  Guys... I'm a total convert, because this was stuff is great!  Not only can I be "normal" and wash my hair every other day now, but it smells fantastic and gives my hair great body too!

First off...let me tell you a little bit about Lush, and why I love them so much.  They are truly an inspiration with their business practices, and I think more companies should look to them for the right way to do business.  Lush only uses the freshest organic ingredients in everything they create, and they even make their own fragrances that smell heavenly and unique.  Even though they are becoming a larger company and distributing worldwide, I love that they are aware of their products' potential environmental and social impact.  Lush ensures that they purchase all their ingredients ethically, and that they are completely preservative-free.  They do absolutely no testing on animals or purchasing of products from companies that do, so they are entirely cruelty-free.  And, in case you haven't guessed, Lush is also a green company.  You will find that a good portion of their products will be sold as "bare," meaning they use no packaging at all. The company, as a whole, tries to use as little packaging as possible with their other products, and they only use recycled materials for those that they do package.  Anywho... I'm going to stop gushing about my love for this company, but let it be said that they are amazing and a company that you should really consider purchasing from. *winks*

Now for the No Drought Review!

Product information on packaging ~ "Easy to use, grapefruit and lime scented, oil-absorbing powder to refresh your hair whether you're with friends at a festival or stuck comb alone.  No wash; just go!"

So how do you use it?

It comes in a convenient easy-to-use bottle that is BPA-free and made of 100% recycled plastic. You just puff it directly into your hair or on your hands, and work it through your hair.  Give it a quick brush to get any lingering patches, and you are all set to go with a matte finish! I am going to caution that this stuff is very easy to make a mess with, so I usually do it over the sink and before I change into the clothing I'm going to wear for the day.  It does have a citrus smell to it, but I find it to be more of a lime scent than grapefruit and also it is very subtle.  Some of their products hit you in the face with their scent, but I promise this isn't one of them.  It also creates great volume by giving your hair a great boost.  The matte look will last you throughout your day until you can get home to wash your hair.

Since they are fresh products, they do have an expiration date, and they will tell you the date they were made as well.  Mine was made on January 15, 2014 and is good until March 15, 2015, so it is good for just over a year. It doesn't take much, so a bottle should last you quite awhile.  They sell it in two different sizes. The 1.9 oz size is $6.95 and the 4.6 oz size is $13.95.  That may sound expensive to some, but for a company with great ethics, I am willing to pay a bit more.  I bought the smaller bottle and I've been using it since January, but I still have three-quarters of it remaining. I think this is going to last me the entire year at this rate.

Overall, I think this is a great product for a quick pick-me-up when you have oily hair, or if you are in too much of a rush to wash your hair on those mornings you are running late.  It would also be fantastic for traveling, and I think it pairs really well with Lush's solid shampoo as well.  I think it is a great convenient tool to have in your arsenal of beauty products, so you should definitely get some of this stuff.
